VOCATIONAL HORSEMANSHIP CERTIFICATE IV

Pre-Requisite - Vocational Horsemanship Certificate III

The Certificate IV course provides participants with the Horsemanship Certificate IV - Results & Refinement which is very much aimed at consolidating your skills and applying them in a more refined manner as well as 'upping the anti' with longer ropes, larger areas, greater challenges and more advanced manoeuvres.

You and your horse are going to have such an solid bond that you will wonder why you didn't embrace this program earlier, however, don't be too hard on yourself, because until you experience Certificate IV 'magic' you just do not know how good Horsemanship can be.

The Certificate IV business stream introduces students to planning and managing an event, planning and delivering training to individuals and understanding the legal aspects associated with the equine industry. You will gain valuable practical experience planning and assisting in managing equine related events; planning and delivering one to one training to Certificate 1 students and ensuring that at all times you are meeting legal requirements such as OH & S, client contractual obligations and public liability terms. To successfully complete these tasks you will need to use your advanced computing skills.

The Horse Care stream at the level focusses on maintaining a horse in peak physical condition by expanding your knowledge of nutrition and feeding underpinned by detailed theoretical knowledge of hoof care and dentition for without teeth and healthy hooves a horse cannot maintain top condition. You will complement this knowledge with an introduction to horse genetics and breeding as well as an introduction to horse anatomy and physiology. These are also essential knowledge areas for ensuring that you can select and develop horses to the best of their ability. Throughout the course you will be undertaking practical activities to reinforce your theoretical knowledge such as hoof trimming, assisting with dental checkups, assessing a variety of horses .

You will also study a range of property structures and facilites and create a plan for additional facilities to suit particular equine enterprises.
