VOCATIONAL HORSEMANSHIP CERTIFICATE III

Pre-Requisite - Vocational Horsemanship Certificate II

The Vocational Certificate 3 aims to provide essential practical and theoretical horsemanship, business and presentation skills to enable the graduate to work in horse related businesses. They are unique in that they offer experiential learning which is underpinned by theoretical knowledge that is applicable to any horse related opportunity.

The unique feature of our courses is that they are 80% practical learning and 20% theoretical learning.

The Certificate III course provides participants with the Horsemanship Certificate III Friendship & Harmony which will build the friendship between you and your horse, to a point where your horse actually enjoys being with you, sees you as a 'herd' member and so the harmony between you both is evident and exciting.

The Buisness stream of the Certificate III course provides participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in understanding and applying Buisness Marketing Skills, negotiating with clients and completing first aid qualifications. Using your computing skills you will be introduced to Financial Record keeping using industry standard software. You will gain practical experience in establishing and managing accounts for an equine buiness. The Horse Care stream will build on your understanding of horse health and introduce common horse ailments and teach you strategies for managing horse health including pandemics such as Equine Influenza. You will study horse confirmation and selection and gain valuable practical experience studying and assessing a variety of horses.

Freestyle

  • understand gaits, footfalls and leads
  • understand and achieve riding dynamics for gaits and leads
  • have the horse that hunts the direction given by rider
  • ride over longer distances and faster gaits
  • ride with one stick, loose reins or handshake reins

Finesse

  • hold with more feel with two reins - teaching the human
  • transition from hackamore to snaffle
  • introducing finesse manoeuvres
