VOCATIONAL HORSEMANSHIP CERTIFICATE II

Pre-Requisite - Vocational Horsemanship Certificate I

The Vocational Certificate 2 aims to provide essential practical and theoretical horsemanship, business and presentation skills to enable the graduate to work in horse related businesses. They are unique in that they offer experiential learning which is underpinned by theoretical knowledge that is applicable to any horse related opportunity. The subjects studied at this level build on the intial skills gained in the Certificate I

The unique feature of our courses is that they are 80% practical learning and 20% theoretical learning.

The Certificate II course provides participants with the Horsemanship Certificate II -Fun & Advancement which will progress the student to enjoy longer ropes and introduce Liberty. The business stream's focus is on developing skills to interact effectively in a team and with clients. The Computing stream builds on technical computer applications skills to develop industry standard, professional documents and files. The Horse Management Stream is introduced at this level to develop knowledge about managing rural properties. The Horse Care stream builds essential knowledge required to manage horse health and nutrition in different environments.

  • dance together on the ground with your horse following your lead
  • achieve bigger challenges on the 12 ’lead rope
  • achieve small challenges on a ring rope

Liberty

  • yield FE, HQ and backing from zone 1 in safe yard
  • "Stick to me" with halter on and lead in students belt

Freestyle

  • understand and display the uses and benefits of one rein vs two reins
  • understand and utilise "Belly button power"
  • understand and utilise effective leg positioning
  • understand and utilise rein positions and habits
  • safely saddle, mount & dismount in different situations
